A miffed Madhur Bhandarkar sets the record straight after varied reports on Indu Sarkar’s box-office collection surface over the weekend
Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar has been marred
with a number of conflicting reports with respect to its box-office collection
ever since Saturday. While some reports suggested that the political drama
pocketed Rs 1.42 crore on Day 1, some said that it had made a mere Rs 85 lakh.
Goes without saying that Madhur is disturbed by so
many versions coming out in the open and he told us that ‘there is nothing
official about them’.
Kirti Kulhari In Indu Sarkar
The National Award-winning filmmaker clarifies with
SpotboyE.com that Indu Sarkar earned Rs 1.42 crore on Day 1 followed by Rs 1.60
crore on Day 2. The film has seen a steady growth over 2 days.
A source close to Bhandarkar reveals, “PVR Cinemas has
increased its shows across 17 properties (belonging to their chain) across
Mumbai city.”
Neil Nitin Mukesh In Indu Sarkar
Ravi Sibal of PVR Juhu confirms, “We have increased
1 show from Saturday onward. We are witnessing a decent number of footfalls,
which is why we took the decision of stepping up the shows.”
After facing one controversy after another, Indu
Sarkar hit theatres on July 28.

Set against the backdrop of Emergency (1975-77),
the project also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Anupam Kher.
